What's the Class About?
We live in an unpredictable world filled with unpredictable people. And we just…simply…truly…totally…cannot control what people do and what happens around us.
Most of us find this maddening.
Why?
Because we think that we can’t feel safe and at ease unless we can…
- Get people we care about to stop thinking or saying bad things about us
- Have sons and daughters that listen to us, respect us, and become the people we want them to be
- Be treated the way we want to be treated
- Get people at work to do the “right” thing
- Make election results conform to our political opinions
…in short, if we can control that which we cannot control.
But this is only true if your sense of safety is located outside of and apart from you.
It isn’t.
Or, at least, it doesn’t have to be.
It is possible to relocate your safety to somewhere that you can control.
A hugely important aspect of mental health and emotional wellbeing rests with this ability to relocate your safety.
Your nervous system is trying to keep you safe. In doing that, it is constantly assessing safety vs. danger. You can reorient how it makes that determination.
Join Raun and your fellow longtime explorers to:
- Get off the treadmill of needing to manage people and events in order to feel safe and at ease
- Make peace with that which you cannot control
- Relocate your safety so it doesn’t depend on things you can’t control
- Self-regulate instead of hoping regulation and calmness happen to you
- Know what it means to have safety within you
… all with a sense of fun and mutual support.
Your Host:
Raun K. Kaufman:
Over the past 25+ years, individuals, couples, families, and groups have benefitted from author, lecturer, and former non-profit CEO Raun K. Kaufman’s brain-centered, nervous-system-friendly, heart-led work in the field of mental-emotional health as well as in the field of autism.
- An international lecturer and graduate of the Ivy League’s Brown University with a degree in Biomedical Ethics, Raun has completed lecture tours in the U.S., United Kingdom, Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Norway, Spain, Portugal, Poland, Romania, France, Japan, Singapore, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Vietnam.
- He has been interviewed by media such as National Public Radio, BBC Television, CBS, NBC, Fox News Channel, The London Telegraph, The Detroit Free Press, The Oregonian, and People Magazine.
- Having helped children and adults on the autism spectrum with their Neuro-Crashes – and then parents having Neuro-Crashes, Raun applied that knowledge to everyone else, as Neuro-Crashes have become an increasingly common phenomenon in the wider public.
- He is the author of the award-winning book, Autism Breakthrough: The Groundbreaking Method That Has Helped Families All Over the World.
- As a child, Raun was diagnosed with so-called “severe” (non-speaking) autism and recommended for lifelong institutionalization. Instead, his parents worked with him in a totally new way they developed, enabling him to blossom, grow, and, ultimately, accomplish everything his parents were promised he would not. A book and television movie were made about Raun’s inspiring journey.
